Loss to Fireballs Extends Minneapolis Losing Streak
The Joplin Fireballs stopped the Minneapolis Freeze, 8-3, at The Ice Box. The Fireballs got a big game from Gil Keyworth, who was 2 for 4 with a home run and a triple. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Reliever Bob Brown picked up the win. His record improves to 4-4. Xian Wang took the loss. Minneapolis is still trying to get off the schneid, having lost 7 in a row.

Keyworth had an important at-bat with a runner on 1st in the top of the fourth, when he hit a 2-run home run. The Fireballs went on to win.
