Titans Bump Off Escape, 9-5
|
The Chicago Titans topped the Scranton Escape, 9-5, with first baseman Ming-an Woo playing a big role. Woo went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for the Titans in the win. Chicago reliever Jun'ichi Kimura picked up the win, upping his record to 2-2. Joe Kenner took the loss. Nobuharu Fujita, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 6th save.
The game turned with two out in the bottom of the fourth when Woo, who is tied for 7th in the NAL in RBI with 53, hit a run-scoring single. It propelled the Titans into the lead, 5-4.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Woo.
Chicago has now won 3 in a row.
