Racers Fall to Flash, 4-1
|
The first-place Fairfield Flash welcomed Bowling Green to Durham Bulls Athletic Park.
The Fairfield Flash defeated the Bowling Green Racers, 4-1, in Nick Adenhart League action at Durham Bulls Athletic Park, with Fairfield pitcher Joe Jackson named player of the game. Manuel Martínez got the save, his 10th in 12 chances.
Fairfield second baseman Gustavo Hernández gave his club a productive at-bat in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the bases loaded and the Flash leading 2-1, Hernández hit a run-scoring single.
"Winning the game is always the first objective," Jackson said.
Fairfield goes to 48-35. The win puts them 2½ games up in their division.
