Death Stars Get Win, Extend Streak to 5
|
Detroit got an elite performance from starting pitcher Felipe Marés in taking a 8-0 decision over the Minneapolis Freeze. The second-place Death Stars have won 5 straight games.
Morgan Catterall had a big run-scoring double for the Death Stars in the bottom of the fifth inning. With Detroit leading 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he got a forkball from Jorge Olivo and stroked the double to left-center. It was his 5th double of the season, and more importantly, it put the Death Stars ahead, 2-0.
"The vibe's good," said Detroit manager David Parker. "We've got to keep it going."
