The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements at Bronx Ballpark enjoyed themselves.

The Bronx Bombers grabbed a 7-4 win over the Chicago Titans at Bronx Ballpark. Bronx first baseman Mitsuharu Onishi went 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once to earn player of the game honors. The win was Vicente Valenzuela's in relief. His record improves to 1-1. Tsuneyo Kichikawa took the loss for Chicago. Ewan Pethick locked down his 11th save.

Bronx took control in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, Lyle Keller hit a 2-run single to make it 6-4, Bombers.

"In baseball, you have your ups and downs," said Chicago manager Bill Riordan. "You just try to stay level-headed the whole time."

Bronx is in last place in the Darryl Kile League Cito Gaston League with a record of 33-47.
