Big Day by Yamamoto Ignites Black Knights Win
|
The Brooklyn Black Knights defeated the Georgia Grays, 6-3, at Blue Ivy Stadium. Brooklyn first baseman Kazuki Yamamoto was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Ti-an Dan locked down his 6th save. The Grays fall to 10-15 and continue to sputter in the early going.
Had Todd McCarthy not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 3rd, McCarthy hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 4-3, in favor of the Black Knights.
"We'll relax tonight and get back after it tomorrow," Yamamoto said after the game.
