Titans Walk Off with 2-1 Win
|
Chicago overcame a superlative game from Bruce Brown to beat Minneapolis, 2-1. The Minneapolis pitcher took player of the game honors in a losing cause. He threw 8 innings of 2-hit ball. Chicago reliever Nobuharu Fujita was the winner. His record is now 1-3. Larry Greer took the loss. The Titans move to 42-38 with the win, while the Freeze drop to 42-35.
Kunio Suto provided some late-game heroics for Chicago. In the bottom of the tenth inning, he hit a run-scoring single. It came on a full count sinker from Larry Greer and propelled Chicago to a 2-1 lead.
"It's great when the crowd gets into it," Suto said.
