Pioneers Stymie Eureka, Take 4-1 Win
|
Vancouver played host to Eureka at the friendly confines of The Royal Court at Jersey Yards.
Alejandro García never let Eureka get something going. The Vancouver left-hander commanded his curveball in pitching the Pioneers to a 4-1 win. García got the win, improving to 1-2. He allowed 3 hits and walked 0 over 7 innings. García allowed 1 earned run.
Parking one for Vancouver was Joe Young. The left fielder had a solo home run in the bottom of the fourth for the Pioneers. It put his team ahead, 2-1, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Young was 2 for 4 with a home run and a double, while scoring 2 runs.
"I just trusted my stuff," said García.
The Pioneers, now 16-9, have been playing some good baseball.
