Astoria shortstop Pat Schmoll was sensational. He belted 2 home runs, while adding 3 RBI and scoring twice, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Minneapolis beat the Argonauts, 8-5. Schmoll was named the player of the game despite the loss. Curt Hart, who went 6 innings, was the winning pitcher. He was charged with 4 runs on 4 hits, while walking 1 and striking out 7. Minneapolis took a 7-4 lead on Danny Adolf's 76th hit of the season. The 2-run single, which Adolf hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Astoria pitcher Ramón Gómez visibly frustrated.
