Titans Pick Up 8-5 Win
|
The Canton Paczkis got a superb performance from left fielder Luis Alaniz. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Chicago. The Titans won the game, 8-5. In spite of the loss, Alaniz was named the player of the game. He was 3 for 3 with a home run and a double. He drove in 4 runs and scored once. Yoshida Yamamoto, the winner, improved to 7-2. He held Canton to 4 earned runs on 5 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. The win puts the Titans at 40-36, while the Paczkis drop to 43-32.
Chicago took the lead in the bottom of the sixth. With no one out and the bases loaded, Mason Green stroked a run-scoring single to make it 5-4, Titans.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Green, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
