Bronx pitcher Juan Mascote did his part in helping his team beat the Joplin Fireballs, 3-1. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Mascote got the win, improving to 1-0. He allowed 4 hits and walked 2 over 7.2 innings. Mascote allowed 1 earned run. Bronx has now won 4 straight.

The Bombers got a lift from shortstop Kaihei Green who had a run-scoring ground out in the top of the fourth inning off Dave Conboy. It was his 3rd RBI of the season and put Bronx in front, 2-1.
