Coal Miners Beat Raptors, 6-4
|
The Antioch Coal Miners had to overcome a big game from Omaha designated hitter Wilfred Bray to leave The Coal Mine with a 6-4 victory. Bray went 2-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. Antioch reliever Juan Martínez picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-1. Michiomi Moteki was collared with the loss. The Raptors, at 34-38, have lost 4 in a row.
The Coal Miners beat the Raptors with some clutch hitting. The single by Roger Schäfer in the bottom of the fifth is a good example. With two down, Schäfer gave his team the lead, 4-3, when he came through with the big hit.
"Enjoyed this one," Schäfer told the Antioch Citizen. "But it's back to work tomorrow."
