The Detroit Death Stars beat the Billings Mustangs, 11-5, at Cobb Field. Detroit center fielder Lloyd Murphy earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He went 3-4 with a home run, a double, and was hit by a pitch, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Kyoji Mizutani earned the win for Detroit. He lasted 6.2 innings, allowing 4 earned runs on 9 hits, while striking out 2. With the win, he raised his record to 2-3. César Castro, credited with the save, is now 1 for 1 in save opportunities.
Morgan Catterall contributed an important at-bat in the top of the sixth. With a runner on 1st, he hit a single. It was one at-bat that helped send Detroit to the win.
