Shimizu Dominant in Baristas Victory
|
Despite the rain, the fans at Ashton Gate enjoyed a good ballgame.
Silver Lake right-hander Arata Shimizu was in fine form, shutting out the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 3-0. Silver Lake is now 28-47, Indian Wells 36-37.
Shimizu scattered 1 hit over 5.2 innings for the Baristas. With the win, Shimizu goes to 4-5 on the year with 72 strikeouts.
Afterward, Baristas manager José Alonzo was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
