Bronx withstood an impressive performance by Joplin right fielder Clive Staniforth to defeat the Fireballs, 5-2, at The Firepit. Staniforth was 2-4 with a home run and a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. The save went to Wilber Matthews, his 1st this season. Bronx now has a 3-game win streak.

With one out in the top of the fifth, Griff Horrocks lit into a changeup from Nicholas Norman for a 3-run home run. That made the score 3-0 in favor of the Bombers. For the day, Horrocks went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once.
