Racers Come Back Late to Clip Cacti
|
The Racers grabbed a win, 5-2, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium, overcoming a fine effort from Albuquerque pitcher Shuichi Imai. Imai went 7 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Bowling Green reliever Sung-hwan Park picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Shunji Kurota shouldered the loss. Keith Martin nailed down his 17th save.
Runs were hard to come by in this one. Kwang-rak Song's at-bat with one out in the top of the eighth, therefore, was critical. The Bowling Green designated hitter hit a 2-run home run, to put his team on top, 3-2.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Song, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
Bowling Green improves to 40-28 with the win. They lead their division by 3 games.
