Death Stars Get Win, Extend Streak to 4
|
Though he had a great game, Tony Ramirez could not single-handedly produce a win for Billings. Detroit won the game, 4-2. Ramirez was named the player of the game. He went 4 for 4 with 3 doubles. Reliever César Castro picked up the win. His record improves to 2-0. Luis Contreras took the loss. Raul Nunez closed the game out for Detroit, earning his 16th save.
Anthony Miller, who is tied for 8th in the DKL with a .934 OPS, helped out the Detroit cause in the top of the third inning with a run-scoring triple. For the game, the left fielder was 2-5 with a triple.
"It takes a lot of things to win a ballgame," said Detroit manager David Parker. "It's usually not just one thing."
The winning streak has now reached 4 games for the Death Stars.
