Racers Lose, 6-0, at Albuquerque Sports Stadium
|
Albuquerque and Bowling Green met at Albuquerque Sports Stadium in front of a lively crowd.
Albuquerque left-hander Dan Thompson was sensational in shutting out the Bowling Green Racers, 6-0. Albuquerque occupies 5th place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division at 32-37.
The Cacti got an important contribution from center fielder Donald Stevens, who in the bottom of the fifth stroked a 1-1 fastball into center for a run-scoring single. It was his 42nd hit of the season and put the Cacti ahead, 1-0.
Thompson told a Albuquerque Observer reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
