Marauders Beat Mustangs in 11
|
The Maple Marauders racked up a win at McNichols Stadium, bumping off the Mile High Mustangs, 5-3. Ze-dong Zhang, who started for Maple, pitched effectively for his team. Maple reliever Marcos León picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Kenkichi Kodo was saddled with the loss. The win was the 18th in 23 games this season for the Marauders, who appear to be on course for a return trip to the playoffs.
This game was not decided until Andreas Kubel came to bat in the top of the 11th. With runners on 2nd and 3rd and two out, the Maple center fielder hit a 2-run double. The Marauders took the lead, 5-3.
"It's a satisfying feeling, to win like we did," said Kubel.
