Islanders Stick Black Knights with 7-4 Loss
|
The Hawaii Islanders topped the Brooklyn Black Knights, 7-4, in Roberto Clemente League action at Aloha Stadium. The player of the game was Hawaii center fielder Zane Mogeni. Hawaii reliever Pedre Pedrogo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Cong Foong took the loss. The save went to Winston Boer, his 1st this season.
Hawaii grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the seventh, when Mogeni, the two overall pick in the 2028 draft, hit a bases-clearing double. His 1st double of the season put the Islanders out in front, 6-4.
"It's a long season," said Mogeni. "We'll keep working to improve."
The Islanders, now 1-2, have not found much traction so far in 2032.
