Hops Stymie Brooklyn, Take 5-1 Win
|
San Diego starter Robinson Pedercini put a stranglehold on the Brooklyn offense. The right-hander had complete command of his change up in leading the Hops to a 5-1 win. Jason Duncan, summoned from the bullpen, notched his 4th save. The win gives the Hops a record of 13-10.
Tied up with the Black Knights in the top of the fourth inning, the Hops got a boost from shortstop Gerardo Rosa. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Rosa saw a 1-2 fastball from Jan Shirazi and hit a run-scoring single to break the stalemate and put San Diego on top, 1-0.
"This level of focus will win us a lot of ballgames," Rosa said after the game.
