Aeropostales Fall to Kamada, Paczkis
|
Behind a solid performance from third baseman Noboru Kamada, the Canton Paczkis defeated the Indian Wells Aeropostales, 8-5. Kamada went 4 for 4 with a home run and 3 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3 for the Paczkis. Canton reliever P.J. Ross picked up the win, bumping his record to 3-0. Jose Avilez was collared with the loss. Canton occupies first place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division at 35-24.
Kamada had an impressive at-bat with the game on the line. In the bottom of the eighth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he hit a 2-1 fastball from Bappaka Ramanakoppa for a 3-run home run. Just like that, the Paczkis took the lead, 7-5.
"Scoring runs is scoring runs," said Canton skipper Omar Arteaga. "It's important to have different ways to do it."
