Phantoms Get One-Run Win at Albuquerque
|
The Coronado Phantoms topped the Albuquerque Cacti, 3-2, in Nick Adenhart League action at Albuquerque Sports Stadium. The player of the game was Coronado pitcher Taylor Longbottom. Longbottom went 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 4 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 3-0. You-liang Rang got the save, the 10th for him this season.
The game hit a turning point in the top of the fifth inning, when the Phantoms were trailing 2-1. Baltazar Sartores delivered a two-out 2-run triple for Coronado, catapulting his team into the lead.
"At the end of the day, it's always about your starting pitcher," said Coronado skipper Jeffrey Graham.
The win puts the Phantoms at 33-26, while the Cacti drop to 28-29.
