A nice crowd turned out to see the Detroit Death Stars and Pasadena Bumblebees clash at The Death Star.

The Detroit Death Stars buried the Pasadena Bumblebees, 13-2, under a barrage of hits. Karl Fernandes led the onslaught, going 3-for-5 for Detroit. Felipe Marés got the win, improving to 3-2. He pitched 6.1 innings, giving up 8 hits and 2 runs, while striking out 4 and walking 2.

The Death Stars used some clutch hitting to beat the Bumblebees, a good example being the at-bat of Morgan Catterall in the bottom of the sixth. With two down, Catterall gave his team the lead, 4-2, when he hit a 2-run double.

Catterall told a Detroit Citizen reporter that he was "very satisfied" with the win.

The Death Stars are now 26-32, while the Bumblebees fall to 25-32.
