Adolf Delivers Clutch At-Bat for Minneapolis in Walk-Off Win
|
The Minneapolis Freeze sent the home crowd home smiling from The Ice Box.
The Minneapolis Freeze defeated the Reno Raiders, 6-5, in Darryl Kile League action at The Ice Box, with Minneapolis pitcher Andrew Johnson named player of the game. Cory McCoy picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-3. Li-zhu Kuang was tagged with the loss.
When he came to bat in the bottom of the 12th, Danny Adolf had a chance to end it. Reno pitcher Li-zhu Kuang had other ideas. But with two outs, Adolf hit a walk-off run-scoring single. The Freeze had the win.
"It's a thrill to get that kind of win," Adolf said.
The Freeze are now 26-28, while the Raiders fall to 22-32.
