Bowling Green right-hander Alain Picard pitched his team to victory over the Fairfield Flash at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The final score was 5-4. The third-place Racers improved to 28-23.

Had Carter Kotas not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Kotas hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Racers.

"I felt good up there," said Kotas. "I saw the ball well."
