Woodard Delivers Walk-Off Win for Pioneers
|
The Vancouver Pioneers gave their fans something to talk about with a thrilling, walk-off win.
Vancouver Pioneers starter Marcus Clifton was definitely locked-in. He led his team to a win over the Eureka Hornets, 4-3. Vancouver reliever Garry Strode picked up the win, bumping his record to 5-0. Chong-su Yi was collared with the loss.
The game came to an abrupt end with no one out in the bottom of the ninth. On a pitch from Prabodh Nimbalkar, Artie Woodard hit a sacrifice fly. It gave Vancouver the 4-3 walk-off win.
"This place was electric at the end," Clifton said.
Vancouver, now 14-9, has gotten their season off to a good start.
