Maple Wins 6-2 to Continue Red Hot Start
|
The Maple Marauders stymied the Mile High Mustangs, 6-2, at McNichols Stadium. Kojuro Ine, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs for Maple. Paul Barrett, the winner, improved to 1-0. He held Mile High to 2 earned runs on 6 hits over 6 innings, while racking up 8 strikeouts. The win was the 17th in 22 games this season for the Marauders, who appear to be on course for a return trip to the playoffs.
Ine had an important at-bat with runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the third, when he drew a walk. The Marauders went on to win.
"We're in a marathon, not a sprint," said Ine. "But I like how we're playing right now."
