Canadians Suffer 5-2 Setback
|
The Omaha Raptors picked up a win at Stanley Park, knocking off the Vancouver Canadians, 5-2. Starting pitcher Michael Walsh played a key role in the triumph. The first-place Raptors are now 26-23, the Canadians 25-26.
Tied up with the Canadians in the top of the fifth inning, the Raptors got a boost from catcher Patrick Montgomery. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, Montgomery saw a first pitch fastball from Felipe De La Hoya and hit a 2-run single to break the stalemate and put Omaha on top, 4-2.
Walsh called the win the result of "everyone being in sync."
