The Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Scranton Escape, 9-2, at Hell Stadium. Antioch right fielder Héctor Lara was named player of the game for his superb performance. He went 1 for 2 with a home run and 3 walks. He scored 3 runs. With the win over Scranton, the Coal Miners improved to 37-13.

In the top of the third, Fletch Hiller hit a 3-run home run for Antioch. The 2nd home run of the season for the Antioch center fielder put the Coal Miners on top, 3-0.
