Canadians Fall to .500 After Loss to Raptors
|
The Omaha Raptors picked up a win at Stanley Park, knocking off the Vancouver Canadians, 5-3. Starting pitcher Frank Perkins was an essential part of his team's success. Jim Unknown earned the save for Omaha, his 1st of the year. Omaha goes to 25-23. The win puts them 2 games up in their division.
In the top of the 6th, shortstop Wilfred Bray gave Omaha the lead when he hit a 3-run home run. The Raptors had been trailing 3-2, but the two-out home run off Vancouver pitcher Po-sin Pang changed that -- and Omaha went on to win.
"We'll enjoy this win," said Perkins. "But there's more we hope to accomplish."
