Riding the 3-hit performance of the 20-year old right fielder Roger Barrett, the Peoria Caterpillars stopped the Canton Paczkis, 5-2. Francisco Zúñiga got credit for the win, improving to 7-1. He allowed 2 runs on 4 hits in 6 innings. Adam Stickells closed the game out for Peoria, earning his 8th save.

Chipping in for Peoria was left fielder Noriaki Kobayashi. He stroked a 2-run single in the top of the first. For the game, Kobayashi went 1-4, while adding 2 RBI.

Kobayashi told a Peoria Bulletin reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
