Cacti Topple Argonauts, 7-4
|
The Astoria Argonauts got a sterling performance from designated hitter Mendel Israel, but the Cacti still prevailed, 7-4. Israel was named the player of the game in a losing cause. He went 2-3 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. Earning his 11th save of the year was Hisataro Sato. Albuquerque, at 25-23, occupies second place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
Albuquerque right fielder Christophe Langlois changed the complexion of the game in the bottom of the sixth inning. That's when he belted a 2-run home run off Rhys Ballard. His 8th home run of the season put Albuquerque in front, 3-2.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Langlois. "And not try to do too much."
