Coal Miners Bang Out 6-3 Win Versus Silver Lake
|
Antioch played host to Silver Lake at the friendly confines of The Coal Mine.
Behind a solid performance from first baseman Herman Wolf, the Antioch Coal Miners defeated the Silver Lake Baristas, 6-3. Wolf was 1-2 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 runs for the Coal Miners. Antioch reliever Maite Tadeo picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Arata Shimizu was saddled with the loss.
The Coal Miners had to work out of trouble in the top of the ninth. The score was 6-3, Antioch, with one out. Silver Lake, with runners on 1st and 2nd, was mounting a threat. Masamune Fujimoto dug in at the plate, but on a 1-0 cutter, he hit into a double play.
The Coal Miners improved to a lofty 35-13.
