Tong Stars for Freeze in 11-4 Win
|
Minneapolis center fielder Yen-nien Tong had a 4-RBI performance, which helped his team grab a 11-4 win over the Bowling Green Racers. Noel Blackwell got the win, improving to 2-5. He worked 6 innings, giving up 4 runs on 11 hits, while striking out 5 and walking 1. Their 21-25 record puts the Freeze second in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division.
Jim Bungay came through for Minneapolis when he hit a run-scoring single in the bottom of the fifth. With runners on 2nd and 3rd, he hit a 1-1 cutter to right field, staking his team to a 5-4 lead.
"The name of the game is scoring runs," Tong said. "We did a good job of that today."
