The Joplin Fireballs went down to defeat to Bi`nh Trieu and his Fairfield teammates. The final score was 3-2 in favor of the Flash. Manuel Martínez earned the save for Fairfield, his 4th. Fairfield has a 3-game win streak, while Joplin has lost 3 in a row.
Fairfield took the lead in the top of the third on a big hit from Jorge Ramírez. On a 2-2 curveball from Nicholas Norman, Ramírez hit a 2-run double. That made it 2-0, Flash. For the day, Ramírez was 2-4 with 2 doubles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs.
"I tell our guys all the time, 'Every pitch is the right pitch if you put it in the right place, you believe in it and have conviction,'" Fairfield manager Gary Altman said.
