Phantoms Spoil Great Performance by Vawser
Despite a fine performance by shortstop Neil Vawser, the Peoria Caterpillars suffered a 5-4 loss to the Coronado Phantoms. Vawser hit 2 home runs, while adding 4 RBI and scoring twice. Coronado reliever Jeff Hodge was credited with the win, to go to 3-2. Nate Chapman took the loss for Peoria. Pedro Alejo closed it out for his 8th save.

Leonard Wright's at-bat with two out in the top of the eighth was critical. The Coronado right fielder hit a run-scoring single, to put his team on top, 3-2. Runs were at a premium and this one was huge.

"It's nice to come out on top today," said Wright.

Coronado, now 25-23, holds third place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
