The Fairfield Flash did not need a Herculean effort from starter Gabriel Bernard, not with their offense scoring runs at will. Fairfield dispatched the Silver Lake Baristas, 15-0. With the win over Silver Lake, the Flash improved to 23-21.
Bernard, the winning pitcher, raised his record to 4-1. In 8.1 innings of work, Bernard gave up no earned runs on 2 hits, while racking up 6 Ks. He kept the Baristas punchless, offensively.
"You can't sugarcoat this one," said Silver Lake manager José Alonzo. "We got the snot knocked out of us."
