Bowling Green first baseman Lorenzo Castillo pounded Chicago Titans pitchers at The War Dome, but it was not enough to keep the Racers from falling, 12-9. Castillo belted 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. The win was Jian-cheng Wang's in relief. His record improves to 3-3. António Méndez took the loss for Bowling Green. Tsuneyo Kichikawa closed it out for his 6th save.

Chicago took a 9-8 lead in the bottom of the eighth inning. With one out, right fielder Eric Humphrey hit a 2-run home run that fired up the crowd.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Chicago manager Bill Riordan.
