The Omaha Raptors topped the Joplin Fireballs, 6-5, in 13 innings. Omaha catcher Patrick Montgomery earned player of the game honors with his performance. He was 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Omaha reliever Edmundo Luas picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Tam Bilh was saddled with the loss. Omaha leads the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division by 2˝ games.

Omaha right fielder Fulton Swatt said he was just trying to make contact when he came to bat with the bases empty in the bottom of the 13th. He did more than that -- Swatt hit a solo home run to stake Omaha to a 6-5 lead. His 2nd home run of the season came off Joplin pitcher Tam Bilh.

"There's no quit in this team," said Raptors manager Manuel Ruíz.
