The Baristas had to overcome a good performance from Scranton pitcher Aurelien Bonello to claim a 5-0 win at Hell Stadium. Bonello went 7 innings and allowed 2 earned runs. Douggie Pitchford got the win, improving to 3-1. He held the Escape to no earned runs on 5 hits over 5.2 innings, while striking out 5 and walking 4. The Baristas now have a record of 14-25.
Parking one for Silver Lake was Andrew Spence. The catcher had a 2-run home run in the top of the fifth for the Baristas. It put his team ahead, 2-0, and sent them on to victory. For the game, Spence was 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times and drove in 2.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Silver Lake manager José Alonzo.
