Cats Stymie Vancouver, Take 4-1 Win
|
Austin Meyers never let Vancouver get something going. The Fort Worth right-hander commanded his forkball in pitching the Cats to a 4-1 win. Meyers, the winner, moves to 4-2. He threw 5.2 innings of 4-hit ball, while fanning 6 and giving up 1 walk. Fort Worth, at 17-19, occupies 4th place in the Nick Adenhart League Bobby Cox Division.
Shimpei Fujita came through for Fort Worth in the top of the third. With one out, Fujita victimized Po-sin Pang with a 3-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season and put Fort Worth on top, 3-0.
"Winning never gets old," said Fujita.
