Grays Rally For Late Win Over Blazers
|
Georgia starter Dongdo-pa Chen pitched effectively against the Bloomington Blazers at The Death Star. The right-hander led his team to a 6-5 win. Georgia reliever Bernalldo Rocchi picked up the win, upping his record to 3-3. Gabriel Núñez was saddled with the loss. Damon Willis earned the save for Georgia, his 1st of the year.
Had it not been for Salvador Ramos, the results might have been different. In the bottom of the eighth inning, when the Grays were trailing 5-3, Ramos hit a bases-clearing double for Georgia, giving his team the lead.
"Dongdo-pa is still learning," said Grays manager Davey Morris. "The sky's the limit for him."
The defending champion Grays have struggled a bit to find their groove this season, but improve to 9-11 with the win.
