Joplin Fireballs starter Bob Brown pitched a strong game against the Minneapolis Freeze at The Firepit, leading the Fireballs to a 5-2 win. Joplin reliever José Santos picked up the win, upping his record to 3-0. Noel Blackwell was saddled with the loss. Seung-jin Hwang closed it out for his 1st save.

Joplin took the lead in the bottom of the seventh. With one out and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Sachi Watanabe stroked a 2-run double to make it 4-2, Fireballs.

"That's a solid team effort right there," said Brown. "Everyone's feeling positive after that win."

Joplin has now won 4 straight, while the Freeze have lost 3 in a row.
