Kawamura, Death Stars Beat Raptors, 6-2
|
The Detroit Death Stars knocked off the Omaha Raptors, 6-2, at The Death Star. Takanobu Kawamura, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason Detroit won. The designated hitter was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles. He scored 2 times and drove in 3. Patrick Charbonnier earned the win for Detroit. He lasted 6 innings, allowing 1 earned run on 7 hits, while striking out 6. With the win, he raised his record to 3-2. Raul Nunez earned the save, his 8th, for the Death Stars.
The two teams provided some entertaining baseball for the The Death Star crowd. Regardless of the outcome, a good time was had by all.
"I thought we played a nice game," Kawamura told the Detroit Citizen. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
Detroit is third in the Darryl Kile League Joe Torre Division with a record of 15-18.
