The Vancouver Canadians overcame a good performance by Minneapolis designated hitter Roger Washington to knock off Minneapolis, 6-4, at The Ice Box. Washington was 2 for 3 with a home run and a walk, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Alberto Ramírez earned his 10th save in 12 tries. The win brings the Canadians to 17-13, a promising start as the team looks to return to the playoffs.

Trailing 3-2, Vancouver hopes soared in the top of the fourth inning when the 22-year old catcher Steve Osburn lifted a 2-2 fastball into the stands for a 2-run home run. The round-tripper put the Canadians up, 4-3.

"I like the roll we're on right now," said Osburn after the game.
