|
Detroit first baseman Robin Hood had a terrific game, but it still wasn't enough to get his team a win. Hood was 3-4 with a home run and 2 singles, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once, even as Coronado beat the Death Stars, 6-4. Hood was named the player of the game despite the loss. You-liang Rang finished the game for Coronado and earned his 3rd save. The Phantoms are off to a tough start, getting just their 11th win in 28 games.
Coronado left fielder Shunen Miyazaki contributed to the cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, Miyazaki was 2 for 3 with 2 singles and a walk.
"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Phantoms manager Jeffrey Graham. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
