Phantoms Topple Raiders with Late Rally
|
Dedicated fans at Phantoms Field weathered the storm to watch their beloved Phantoms beat the Raiders.
The Coronado Phantoms stymied the Reno Raiders, 6-2, at Phantoms Field. Foster Miller, who had a good day at the plate, was named player of the game. He was 1-1 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once for Coronado. Reliever Mitsukuni Kudo picked up the win. His record improves to 1-2. Yuki Kokawa took the loss.
One important at-bat came with a runner on 1st in the bottom of the eighth inning. Facing Reno hurler Yuki Kokawa, Baltazar Sartores, who is tied for 5th in the NAL in stolen bases with 12, hit a single. The Phantoms went on to win.
"We had a nice day," said Coronado skipper Jeffrey Graham.
The Phantoms move to 16-21 with the win, while the Raiders drop to 15-20.
