Titans Pin 4-1 Loss on Caterpillars

Yoshida Yamamoto never let the Caterpillars get in a groove. The right-hander used his bread and butter, his slider, to pitch the Titans to a 4-1 win. The winning pitcher was Yamamoto, now 1-1. He tossed 6.1 innings of 5-hit ball, while walking 2 and fanning 6. The win gives Chicago a record of 11-15.
Tied up with the Caterpillars in the bottom of the fourth inning, the Titans got a boost from catcher Aamir Hassani. With a runner on 1st, Hassani saw a 1-2 slider from Mitsuzuka Koyama and hit a 2-run home run to break the stalemate and put Chicago on top, 2-0.
"That's the key at this level, throwing strike one," said Yamamoto. "Successful pitchers do it."
