The Billings Mustangs beat the Fairfield Flash, 7-3, at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. Billings first baseman Way-ming Wang earned player of the game honors with an outstanding performance. He was 2 for 3 with 2 home runs. He drove in 5 runs and scored twice. José Chávez picked up the win, improving his season record to 4-0. He struck out 4 in 7.1 innings. Diego Castro nailed down his 8th save.

The Mustangs used some clutch hitting to beat the Flash, a good example being the at-bat of Tony Ramirez in the top of the second. With two down, Ramirez gave his team the lead, 2-0, when he hit a 2-run home run.

"Anything I can do to help the team win," said Ramirez.

With the win, Billings pushes its record to 18-8.
